“Reading gives us some place to go when we have to stay where we are.”
It sums up the state in which I along with others have been for the last one and a half years. This book reading experience went to altogether another level when I was fortunate enough to get a chance to participate in the 48th book reading session with none other than Dr. Kiran Bedi ma’am.
To say that, this was an eye-opener is actually falling short of words describing this unique experience. The starting of the session with ma’am asking “Who are you” itself was a profound question. It is the quest of human life to know the inner self.
The entire event had segments which enriched me as a student as well as a human being. Dr. Kiran Bedi ma’am’s input in doing good for the society keeping in mind the socio-economic status is something which is commendable. I believe that this insight which ma’am very kindly shared with us will help me in future.
The enthusiasm with which the entire session was conducted by ma’am made me hungry for more interactive sessions with her. It felt as if the hour had passed with the speed of light. The way ma’am touched each and every aspect while explaining the questions in the quiz, her depth of knowledge and information made me realize that there is no end to knowing. She made me realize this fact that great heights can be achieved through sheer discipline and diligence.
Ma’am allowed each participant to provide inputs regarding a participant’s question which actually allowed us to share one another’s views. This kind of book reading interaction was entirely a novel experience. As ma’am had once commented “The focus is what is right before you – to give it your best. It sows the seeds of tomorrow.” I felt after the interactive book reading session with Dr. Kiran Bedi ma’am that I have got my focus back as to what I want to be.
Having the inputs of a positive and smart person like ma’am in my life has given it the impetus to seize the moment. I pray and hope that God Almighty showers his blessing on ma’am and may I remain fortunate enough to be in her touch.
